Pick a whole cart of orders in one walk

When cart picking pays off

Batch picking pulls everything for the batch, then sorts by order at packing. Cart picking sorts as you go: each order gets its own tote, so packers get orders that are already separated. It suits shops with many small orders and a picker walking the floor with a cart.

How a cart works

1. Set it up once. Turn on cart picking in Settings and define the cart sizes your pickers can choose from (1 to 20 orders). Tick Pick by cart when you create a batch.
2. Start a cart. The picker picks their name and a cart size. The oldest orders not yet on a cart fill it.
3. Label the totes. Print tote labels with the slot, the order and a barcode.
4. Scan into the right tote. Each scanned unit goes to the tote on screen. Scan a tote's label to switch. An item in the wrong tote is refused, and the screen says where it belongs. Undo last unit fixes a slip.
5. Finish the cart. When every tote is full or marked short, finish it and start the next. When all carts are done, the batch moves to packing.

Short items don't stall the cart

Can't find the rest of an item? Tap Can't find the rest to see which orders would be short. Confirm them and they're held for follow-up while the cart carries on. If the item turns up later, I found it puts it back on the order's pack list.

Managers stay in control

Managers can release a cart a picker is holding, empty one tote or dissolve a cart, always with a reason. At packing, each order shows which tote it's in, and short orders stay out of fulfillment until they're resolved.
