A simple pick list template you can print or fill from a spreadsheet. It has the columns a picker actually needs, in the order they need them.
What's on it
| Column | Why it's there |
|---|---|
| Bin | Sort by this column so the list follows your aisles. |
| SKU and variant | Stops the medium and the large getting mixed up. |
| Qty to pick | The total across every order in the batch, so each item is pulled once. |
| Picked / Short | Tick boxes so anyone can see progress, and shortages get flagged instead of forgotten. |
| Notes | Damaged stock, substitutions, anything the packer needs to know. |
How to fill it from Shopify
- Export unfulfilled orders from Shopify as CSV.
- In a spreadsheet, make a pivot table of quantity by SKU and variant.
- Add each SKU's bin (from your product data), sort by bin, and paste the rows into the template.
- Print, pick top to bottom, and tick as you go.
When a template stops being enough
A template is a great start. It gets harder when orders arrive while you're picking, when more than one person is picking, or when a wrong item costs you a reship. That's where an app that builds the list from live orders, sorts it by bin and verifies each unit with a scan earns its keep. Compare the options.
